CBD Dosing Guide

We know CBD dosing can be confusing to the new CBD users just getting started and is something that we get asked about on a regular basis. This guide will give you a couple of tips and guidelines to follow so you can find the most effective CBD dose for you.

How much CBD should I take?

This question is very personal and will vary person to person based on genetics, general health, what conditions you suffer from, and your tolerance to CBD.There is no "one size fits all" approach to dosing, and most of it will come down to how your body specifically responds.

The first step in determining this is knowing what your goals are with taking CBD. Do you suffer from anxiety and want to try CBD as an alternative solution? Do you have arthritic pain and need relief? Or are you curious to see if CBD can help improve your overall sense of well being? These are all legitimate reasons to take CBD, and being able to answer this question will help give you a much better understanding of what your needs are.

Estimate Dose Based Off Body Weight

One of the most common ways for new users to determine their dosing needs is to base it off of your current body weight. The basic guidelines for this method are to take 1-6mg CBD for every 10 pounds of body weight and then the individual's current level of pain. For example, 20mg would be a great starting dose for an individual with a body weight of 200 who is wanting to take CBD for overall wellbeing.

This will give you a good starting point in determining how much CBD you should take and how to begin increasing the dose effectively.

Low and Slow

The general rule of thumb when introducing anything new into your health regiment like CBD is to start low and slow. Don't be afraid to test out different doses and take notes in a journal about the effects it had.

For example, let's say you have chronic pain which on a scale from 1-10 you rate that pain at a 7 before taking CBD. The first week you take 30mg of CBD and reevaluate how you feel right after and notice that it brought the pain level down from a 7 to a 5. The next week you increase your dose to 40mg and notice it brings you down from a 7 to a 4 and are able to determine that 40mg works best for the relief you need. As you start to collect this data over time, you'll more effectively be able to decide whether you need to increase/decrease your dose.

Consistency is key

We have found over the years from talking with people and experiencing this ourselves is that consistency is key. If you are really wanting to maximize the potential benefits of CBD oil take the time in the beginning to find the dose that works best for you and stick with it. This could also mean trying different CBD products and finding that maybe the muscle rub worked better at relieving the joint pain you had in your knees compared to the tincture because the rub has a more targeted approach when applied to areas of the body.

What Can Affect Your CBD Experience?

The quality of your CBD oil: This could be one of the most important things to consider when looking at CBD products or analyzing your CBD experience. Everything from how the hemp was grown, the extraction process used, to also looking at if you're taking a Full (Broad) Spectrum CBD or an isolate. All of these factors play a role in the effectiveness of a CBD product.

The severity of Your Symptoms: CBD is awesome and has so much incredible potential for what it can do for someone. However, it is entirely possible there will be instances that the severity of your symptoms can't be properly addressed with the use of CBD oil.

Age: Age can play a critical role in the behavior and cellular effects a compound has on a subject and something to take into consideration when determining a proper dose.
